Where we are headed

The primary purpose of The Fish Gate is to live out of the revelation of the original community of God, Father Son and Holy Spirit. In other words, we believe every person created in the image of God has a natural need and desire for genuine community and connection. We believe The Fish Gate can be a place where the good news of the reconnection to the original community is proclaimed and lived.

The Fish Gate is committed to seeing and understanding the nature of God’s original community and to clearly portraying Jesus Christ in the power of the Holy Spirit in order that we can better know and live in the Father’s family.

Genuine community is a difficult thing to work toward and requires the gifts and abilities of each member to bring to fullness. Some of the aspects of community we hope to see in The Fish Gate are:

• Music and song which celebrates and points to these truths

• Social action

• Relational and inclusive proclamation of the gospel

• Proliferation of Home Groups and other special interest small groups

• Fun and stimulating children’s ministry

• Growth of teenage youth group

• Special services to enhance connection

• Crisis support

• Teaching and theological intensives

• BBQs, social outings, good coffee, hospitality

• Family camps, youth camps, men’s and women’s weekends away

• Social action and mission both local and abroad
